Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21).
Trinity
We believe that there is one true, living God, eternally existing in three persons:
God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 1:2; Titus 3:4-7).
Jesus Christ
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and physically born to a virgin on earth. He lived a sinless life. He is God the Father manifested in the flesh. He is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He was crucified, physically died, was buried, and physically rose from the dead. He later ascended back to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to earth to indwell believers. Jesus will personally return to receive unto himself all those that have believed. (John 1:1,14; Colossians 1:15-19).
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is an equal part of the triune God. He was sent by the Father to be the comforter and to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Holy Spirit teaches us, guides us into all truth and intercedes for and through us. He empowers the believer to live the Christian life as he transforms us into the likeness of the Son.
(John 16:5-8; Romans 8:26,27; 2 Corinthians 3:17,18).
Redemption
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ. There is only one way to be saved, that is through faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is granted based on what Jesus did, not on what we do. (Romans 3:23,24; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8,9).
Baptism
Baptism is a public profession of the faith of a believer. It is for those that have sincerely repented in their hearts and have truly believed in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. A candidate for baptism must have an appropriate level of understanding and spiritual maturity and fully understand the meaning of baptism. Baptism is accomplished by the full immersion in water into the name of the triune God, in accordance with the examples in scripture. (Acts 8:12,36-39; Matthew 28:18-20).
